The Bellevue Borough Police Department is warning parents about “The 48-Hour Challenge.”
The police department says the challenge encourages teenagers to go missing for a period of 48 hours.
As the department describes it, the person who takes the challenge will receive points for having more online activity, including posts about their disappearance.
Some reports in past years have dismissed the challenge as a hoax but police are still sending the warning to parents.
Bellevue Borough police said anyone participating in activity like “The 48-Hour Challenge” could face potential criminal charges.
