Dog Who Was Shot 17 Times Becomes Therapy Dog

(Animal Channel)

Maggie was born in Lebanon, and she spent her first years living on the streets. When she was five years old, Maggie was found chained up on the side of the road. She had 17 bullet holes in her body, including four in her eyes, which blinded her. Her ear had also been cut off.

A British rescue organization called Wild at Heart Foundation rescued Maggie and helped nurse her back to health. One of the organization’s regular foster parents, Kasey Carlin, heard about Maggie’s story and offered to take her in. Kasey quickly fell in love with Maggie—she was amazed by her resilience and strength.

“She’s just a normal dog,” Kasey told the BBC. “She gets around, she runs, she goes off lead…And she’s brilliant. I know she knows she’s blind, but she doesn’t act blind at all.”
