The Delusions and Collusions of the Hon. John Kerry

Source-Town Hall-

There is a whiff of the absurd about former Secretary of State Jean-Francois Kerry's recent "aggressive yet stealthy mission" to New York City. "Aggressive yet stealthy" is how The Boston Globe described his mission, though to serious observers of this elongated buffoon, the diplomatic mission was also comic. His return to diplomacy was as comic as his episodes of hang gliding while running for president, mad bicycling jaunts across Europe in what looked like his underpants and recreational surfing -- all while ostensibly on duty. As for his recent "aggressive and stealthy" diplomacy in New York, is he delusional? Has he never heard of the Logan Act outlawing private diplomacy? President Donald Trump has heard of it, and in a Monday morning tweet, he raised the specter of illegality. Again, is Jean-Francois delusional?

Well, I have long thought that he is, but so are many of the upper-echelon members of the Democratic Party, starting with Hillary Clinton, who apparently believes that she is the rightful claimant to the presidency. She has moved her seat of power to Chappaqua, New York, to wait patiently until her loyal factotum, special counsel Robert Mueller III, makes the necessary arrangements for her return to Washington, D.C., where she, in her delusion, will take over the White House from the disgraced Trumpians. Surely, 78-year-old House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi will return to House Speakership, along with dozens of other fla-fla Democrats. For them the recent election has been a mere distraction from the business of governing America and raising taxes.

I wonder when Secretary-of-State-in-Waiting Kerry will return to the Chappaqua White House to report his New York mission to the president-in-waiting. Apparently, his meetings with the Iranian foreign minister were not his only high-level consultations during his important mission to salvage Iran's nuclear program. He reportedly met with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier last month and conferred with French President Emmanuel Macron in both Paris and New York, doubtless in French. It is also reported by the Boston Globe that he took a telephone call from European Union official Federica Mogherini, though Mogherini possibly dialed the wrong number. At any rate, he has been very busy brushing up on his diplomatic skills. Read more

From a Different Point of View- Iran vows to restart nuclear program

Source-CNN-

Iran says it is ready to restart its nuclear program on an "industrial scale" in the wake of the decision by US President Donald Trump to abandon the deal that curbs the country's nuclear ambitions.

In a statement published Friday, Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif said he would embark on a round of international diplomacy to try and save the deal. At the same time, the country would make preparations to restart its program of nuclear enrichment, he said.

Zarif's comments came as thousands of Iranians took to the streets in the largest demonstration since Trump announced his decision Tuesday.

Protesters burned an American flag and railed against the US and Israel after emerging from Friday prayers in Tehran.

In his statement, Zarif accused Trump of "ignorance and folly" and said American foreign policy had "dragged the Middle East into chaos."

He said Iran would attempt to save the nuclear deal through negotiations with the European nations who were co-signatories to the deal. Zarif will meet Tuesday with his counterparts from Germany, France and the UK in Brussels.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel said the US decision to withdraw from the deal was a serious blow. Speaking at a Catholic Day conference in Muenster on Friday, Merkel said it would be difficult to keep the deal alive, given that a "huge economic power has left."
