2019: What Is Your Reality And What Are Your Priorities?

Updated: Jan 15, 2019

(The American Dossier, John Katz, Editor)

Well folks, here we are the first Friday of 2019 already.

It is all too easy to say the news cycle is already depressing as we are at in impasse with the government shutdown. The year is already going by at a steady pace. Perhaps some have kept, broken or have struggled with their New Years resolution. Have hope and don't give up and try, try again. That is the true American spirit as It is all to easy to get caught up and become snarky. Snarky gets us no where.

Which brings me to an article I saw this morning in the New York Post. It was rather ambiguous and could easily be labeled as snarky. It was about former

American Idol Host Brian Dunkleman, it goes on to say,:

"He went from “Idol” to Uber. "Sixteen years after he co-hosted Season 1 of “American Idol” with Ryan Seacrest, Brian Dunkleman is driving an Uber to stay afloat," Dunkleman’s dire finances were exposed in divorce paperwork obtained by TMZ. " To me it seemed like a cheap shot as though this man did something wrong by working.

My guess is that the NY Post expects its readers to judge and demean Brian because he lost celebrity status? I am sorry but good for Brian for letting go of pride and supporting his family by any means necessary. And if we must be snarky, the man is not blaming the government or using his celebrity status to cry foul.

It is a lesson for all generations that taking care of self and family takes priority over anything in life. Without that does it really matter? We here at The American will continue to pray for Brian and others like him that they don't give up and despair. "Success" in life indeed is a journey and not about being an "Idol." What is your priority? Cheers to a man who lives his life with faith, freedom and fortitude.
