We are almost at the half-way point of 2018 and there have been a lot of bothersome headlines. The most difficult ones have been the school shootings. We here at The American Dossier pray that God heal, bless and protect the families of the victims of these evil atrocities and for future sensible legislation that perhaps could curtail them from happening.
Memorial Day has come and gone, and like most of you readers we hope for brighter sunnier days in both the weather and in the news headlines. We have had a very challenging spring on the east coast with massive amount of rain. There have also been waves of natural disasters throughout the country stemming from flooding, earthquakes and volcanoes.
So what are the issues we need to be praying about…. In recent days here are what the top issues seem to be.
1) The Denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula /the Summit- The best result we all agree on would to see North Korea give up it nukes and become an active member of the global economy on a 21st century level.
2) The NFL Stand Vs Kneel-In this country we are blessed to be able to have the freedom to protest. However there is reality that we must follow an employer’s policy/rules. In recent weeks the NFL made its rules firm that anyone who wishes to kneel needs to stay in the locker room. That rule does not negate the social injustices that have occurred. If anything the dialog must continue and actions taken to heal the spoils of unfortunate past transgressions.
The reality needs not be hidden under the rug but continued in dialog in public forum. Standing and pledging an Allegiance only reminds that we all must continue dialog and not spew hate. Much like the holocaust we need to better teach about the atrocities of slavery. Yes there were transgression but because we are a Republic, brave men and women continue to come forward and take a stand and call on a higher power and action in healing.
3) Russia- What is real what is not realty- Everyone loves a great spy thriller. Yet at the end of the day we are a unique nation in that we are a republic. Which is why this issue needs not to divide and conquer, It’s not about tabloid journalism and celebrity misdeeds. It is about trust and truth and best we all can do is pray for all involved so that the truth prevails.
4) The Mid-Term Elections- As corny as it sounds it takes the whole village of voters. Whether we agree to agree or agree to disagree... we most follow the rules of any election season…vote and only vote once. So in closing. The joys of summer quickly approach with the tide of graduations and fathers day quickly approaching. May you all reflect on these issues and keep hope for brighter future and plenty of Summer Sun.
