We at The American Dossier do our best to leave tabloid journalism to the tabloid journalists. This is not an endorsement, but a "Thank You" for focusing on the art of entertaining and perhaps a subliminal message of "One Love."
Like many I got sucked into watching the Super Bowl mostly because of the hoopla, as I am not a fan of either team. It was overall a low-key game, but I enjoyed it and the halftime show.
I was just sitting at home with my family hoping to simply be entertained at halftime but yet at the same time wincing in anticipating over some type of over the top political statement.
What we got was a pop star simply doing his thing with other pop stars…to me it was overall about entertaining the fans.
Lets face it when you to a concert you are not going to love everything.
Sadly, within less than an hour after the game, the who’s who of everyday critics came out to criticize Adam Levine and Maroon 5, namely USA Today labeled them as “White bread” and not diverse enough.
Furthermore I thought that Mr. Levine’s response to this criticism was dignified and classy: "We thank the universe for this historic opportunity to play on the world’s biggest stage," Levine, 39, continued. "We thank our fans for making our dreams possible. And we thank our critics for always pushing us to do better."
I believe there was a subliminal message in regards to the issues brought to attention by Colin Kapernick and a message for all sides to embrace. At one point of the show the words “One Love” were lit up with pyrotechnical effects . I could not help to think if this was a reference to a Bob Marley song One Love as the lyrics simply proclaim :
One Love!
One Heart!
Let's get together and feel all right.
Hear the children cryin'
(One Love! );
Hear the children cryin'
(One Heart! ),
Sayin': give thanks and praise
To the Lord and I will feel all right;
Sayin': let's get together
And feel all right.
Wo wo-wo wo-wo!
Let them all pass all their dirty Remarks (One Love! );
There is one question I'd really love to ask (One Heart! ): Is there a place for the hopeless sinner, Who has hurt all mankind just To save his own beliefs? - Bob Marley
