The Tuesday After… Investigate or Legislate

-Source-The American Dossier, John Katz, Editor-

What difference or indifference does a week make after the Mid-terms.

Americans demanded an end to politics as usual. If Democrats want to lead they need to listen and follow through.

What we experienced is a blue ripple....that will not have the effect that they hoped for in 2020. I believe we will see an exodus of moderates and conservatives from liberal states, because in the end as boasted by James Carville “It is the economy Stupid”. People of all races, creeds and culture in our country want stability.

I think it also puts the Democrats on the hot seat to legislate and not investigate. If they were smart they would not keep Pelosi as Speaker of The House, especially with immigration and healthcare. A majority of people of all political parties don't want the circus to continue. They want leadership.

It was reported in NPR that Democrats will take control of the U.S. House in January with big items topping their legislative to-do list: Remove obstacles to voting, close loopholes in government ethics law and reduce the influence of political money. It sounds good on paper but will finally they focus on legislative issues instead of Russian Collusion?

The mass media much like a broken record is still refusing to spin things that matter. As the mission of divide and conquer continues with even more misguided focus with racial tensions and division. Their needle is stuck.

As illustrated in a press conference President Trump was attacked with accusations that his vision of Nationalism is nothing than racist rhetoric to appease his base.

As reported the President was being quizzed on his decision to brand himself a nationalist, with PBS reporter Yamiche Alcindor, who claimed it could be seen as “emboldening white nationalists”., despite President’s response of appall in being asked a racist question.

The President does have a right to defend himself from being accused of being racist which is something that the media refuse to do. Because it has become acceptable to do so.

The President went on to say: “I love our country. I do. You have nationalists, you have globalists. I also love the world. Being a nationalist is about inclusive of all cultures, races, and creeds in America first. Government is not religion.

So now that they have power in controlling the House where will the Democrat party land for their 2020 platform? There is clearly already talk about whether Pelosi should remain Speaker.

It was suggested today in the Washington Post that Stacey Abrams be considered as Speaker, “Abrams is precisely the sort of inspirational leader that the moment demands, and the move would send a clear message to voters that their concerns have been heard — and that Democrats can find innovative ways to elevate the next generation of party leaders.” Contrary to popular understanding, the Constitution does not require the speaker of the House to be a member of Congress, although every speaker in American history has been.

In closing this editorial a and just reported in Axios “ Now that they're set to assume control of the House, there are at least 85 topics that Democrats have said they'd target — or are expected to target — in the forthcoming torrent of investigations and subpoenas to be directed at the Trump White House”

In the end one has to question is this being done to protect and defend the Constitution or a mere spin/blame campaign that only leaves our country further divided because they are afraid to find their identity and role up their sleeves and work bipartisanship on issues that matter.
